Carpet Beetle Control & Treatment

Carpet beetle are typically small (up to 5mm long) and are oval or elongate-oval in shape. They live in dark, undisturbed areas of your home. Larvae often feed up to 9 months, after which they pupate. Adult carpet beetle are mostly pollen and nectar feeders and are often found around windows. Carpet beetle are usually brought into the home on cut flowers and then look for an egg laying site in your home. Preferring materials of animal origin, they also eat wool, fur, hair, silk, fabrics, carpets, underfelts, rugs, fibre-type insulating material and also some dried food items.

Thorough vacuuming of carpet areas, followed by chemical treatment to areas of infestation will eliminate carpet beetle.
